Ahangama isn’t your typical event spot —but that was exactly the point.
FormaCity landed on Sri Lanka’s south coast with a clear mission: to create a space for living, working, and thinking differently. Not a conference. Not a retreat. Something in between—a fluid space where the Web3 ecosystem could meet offline and reconnect with what matters.
Ahangama isn’t your typical event spot—and that was exactly the point. We helped FormaCity land on Sri Lanka’s south coast to build a space where the Web3 ecosystem could meet offline. Not a conference, not a retreat, but a two-week fluid environment for living, working, and thinking differently.
Our Role: From concept to reality, we shaped a series of immersive pop-up experiences blending culture, creativity, and community. Set between the jungle and the sea, we built a space designed for deep work and deep rest—where surf breaks were as common as brainstorms, and gathering took on a whole new meaning.
THE BRIEF
FormaCity invited us to co-create a very special project: a temporary space in Ahangama, Sri Lanka, bringing together an international community of creators, developers, founders, and investors for two weeks of connection, collaboration, and out-of-the-box living.
The goal was to build an experience where strategic thinking, human connection, and creative inspiration could all coexist.
THE CHALLENGE
Producing in Sri Lanka came with its own set of challenges. We didn’t have access to the tools and services we rely on in other parts of the world—so we had to adapt, explore, meet people, find local solutions, and build with what we had.
It pushed us to be more agile, more resourceful, and more in tune with our surroundings.
We worked with natural materials like bamboo, rope, and local textiles. We created a visual system that blended Sri Lankan cultural references with Forma’s contemporary design language. And we turned everyday spaces into soulful places—branded environments where community could thrive.
THE EXPERIENCE
For fourteen days, Ahangama became a gathering point for people with ideas, energy, and a desire to share.
We built a dreamy coworking space facing the sea, coordinated sunrise yoga and meditation sessions, hosted hands-on workshops, surf sessions, conversations on the future of Web3, and a whole lot of music. Barbecues, livestreams, and good vibes all around.
To wrap it up, we threw a closing party with live music, DJs, cocktails, lights, color, the ocean, and a big collective exhale.
A full-circle experience, where between coconuts we led creative direction, branding, spatial design, audiovisual production, coordination, and content.
